Mandarin Oriental, leader in luxury hospitality for the past fifty years, is about to arrive in Italy.
Mandarin Oriental Milan will be opened in few weeks, taking advantage of the flow of tourism generated by Expo 2015.
The group has chosen via Andegari as its perfect location, in the heart of the city, few steps from via Montenapoleone and from the famous opera house La Scala.
The building is from the 19th century and the interior has been committed to the famous italian designer, Antonio Citterio.
The design incorporates contemporary Italian decor and Asian-inspired touches.
Elegant and luxurious in each aspect, the five stars hotel will host only 104 rooms: 30 suites, one Presidential suite and the other 73 rooms decorated with a neutral palette.
The general manager has be announced to be Luca Finardi, having a wide experience in the luxury hospitality industry.
“Luca’s wealth of experience and understanding of this market, make him the ideal candidate to position Mandarin Oriental Milan as the best hotel in the city”, said Executive Vice President and Director of Operations for Mandarin Oriental Group in Europe, Middle East and Africa Christoph Mares.
The chef of the restaurant will be Antonio Guida, two Michelin stars and three Gambero Rosso forks, who has been working for some of the top restaurants, such as Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, Pellicano restaurant in Porto Ercole and Pierre Gagnaire in Paris.
Using only seasonal and excellent products and always finding the perfect balance between presentation and taste, the chef will probably satisfy all the clients.
The Mandarin Oriental Group is definitely re-known for the attention in every detail, especially in their 11 restaurants which achieved 16 Michelin stars.
The hotel will also have a huge spa, of about one thousand square meters, the biggest beauty center in Milan.
At the moment the group manages 11,000 bedrooms in 45 hotels (between the ones already present on the market and the other ones about to be opened), covering 25 countries.
Asia, at the first position, has 20 hotels, followed by North and South America with 10 buildings and the other 15 between Europe, Middle East and North Africa.
The asset is evaluated around 3.1 billion of USD.
It was the 1963 when the company opened the first hotel in Hong Kong and 52 years have already passed by, but nothing has really changed.
Always been known at worldwide level for the excellent service, the group preserves its reputation, keeping on enlarging its portfolio, innovating itself, but maintaining its identity.
