Cosmoprof Bologna 2015: ” A great international success”


Since 48 years, Cosmoprof Bologna is the leading worldwide platform for the professional beauty sector, cosmetics and wellness industry. Recently Cosmoprof has signed agreements with international organizations in order to create high level trade fairs around the world and so to become an international company. In this way Cosmoprof will be not only Bologna but also Asia ( Hong Kong ) and North America ( Las Vegas).

Over 90.000 squared meters of exhibition space is entirely dedicated to all the different sectors of the beauty industry: Hair, Nails, Perfumery and Cosmetics, Spa, Natural Health and so on. Every year the number of exhibitors, buyers and visitors from different countries grows always more insomuch as they’re  turning this event into an enormous and multiethnic hub where professionals and managers meet up to create and develop their business.


The last edition took place in Bologna from the 20th to 23rd of March and it was a great success thanks to the huge number of participants, above all foreign visitors. More then 248.000 people participated in the event ( 20% more than the last year ), and among them around 79.000 were foreigners ( sharp increase of 30% compared with the last year ). Most of the exhibitors came from abroad and there were also many foreign journalists.


“Cosmoprof actually is an exceptional event” as Duccio Campagnoli, President of Bologna Fiere, stated in many interviews. He was really enthusiastic of the last edition’s outcomes and he kept saying that:  This has been the Cosmoprof of Internationality, which ideally opens the great age of Expo 2015. We had 27 Country Pavilions and among them the Us, the French and the Polish ones were visited by their Consuls in Italy, who confirmed the great credibility of our fair abroad”.

The success of the 48th edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna has been reached thanks to the combination of many elements: dynamism, innovative solutions, constant investment in research and above alla attention to foreign markets which are an opportunity of growth for Italian companies in the cosmetic sectors.

During the three days of exhibition were organized ad hoc initiatives for each sector represented. Workshops, events, seminars, conferences were held by experts of all the sectors and everybody could attend them, focusing the attention on important topics related to the future growth opportunities in the beauty business.


Alongside Cosmoprof, there was also another important trade fair, Cosmopack, the show-in-the-show event only dedicated to packaging and contract manufacturing, so practically the landmark event for the supply chain of the beauty world. The fair opened a day earlier than Cosmoprof and lasted 4 days. The fair hosted around 420 exhibitors from 33 different countries and like in Cosmoprof there were many events and initiatives that enriched the business calendar for companies and professionals.

One of the most successful and overcrowded event was “The Mascara Factory”, which showed the live set-up of the production process for the mascara. So there were many interesting and curious things to see and to do.

Events like Cosmoprof are a showcase for our country and the ability of our cities to face them properly is a great satisfaction. The over-presence of foreigners at this event has to make us understand the importance and the of our country but above all of our resources and potentialities abroad. This in a good reason to feel proud.
